I'm skeptical of this type of consolidation—AT&T to buy HBO, CNN, and Time Warner for more than $80 billion theverge.com

I'm strongly in favor of competitive markets. A small number of powerful ISPs making content acquisitions can't be good for consumers.

And yes, I realize this deal doesn't include Time Warner Cable.
