Why the Atlanta Streetcar Falls Short of MARTA
Have to admit, I'm not a fan of the Atlanta Streetcar. Those funds have should have gone to MARTA.
Streetcars solve a capacity problem (not an issue in Atlanta), while having a right of way problem (major issue in Atlanta).
The main benefit of MARTA's light rail is avoiding Atlanta's traffic. The streetcar gets to sit in traffic with all the other vehicles.
