Thermostat Design Is Poor
Thermostat design is so poor. I'm an interface designer and I can't figure out how this thing works. No wonder @nest has made a killing.
My previous place had a super simple thermostat without any interface—probably about 20-30 years old. Fan ON/AUTO, System OFF/COOL/HEAT and a lever for selecting the temperature.
Only improvement over that design would be better indicator of temp selected. Perhaps better materials as well. I'd love to see that older design revisited.
